Thank you for reporting on Mr. Finchem's newsletter so I can comment here without having to go there - and as for there being no coincidences, I note that the printer problems in Kentucky happened on the 16th; 16 is 4 squared; a square is a shape; I am in decent shape, and I am a Democrat. Which obviously means that the Democrats caused the printer jams, since there are no coincidences. Of course, about printer jams, jam is a food, and ...

The Agenda had a ton of news today, but I was disappointed with the cursory coverage of the huge win for Tempe citizens against their own city council's unanimous (mistaken) decision to support the Meruelo-backed Coyotes hockey arena and entertainment district. This was a true David and Goliath story, with all living mayors joining the Council in support and millions spent to get the vote to come out the other way. This win for citizens spells a new era of critical scrutiny of elected officials and their unseemly relationship with developers.

A few years ago I suggested having a "Bulwer-Lytton of the Caliche" contest: https://shermandorn.com/wordpress/?p=9193 -- you could take it over and run it, as a way to address the summer lull between spring legislative ridiculousness and whatever ridiculousness happens in fall.

I wonder where the money for lawyers is coming from for the failed candidates legal challenges? Is it from campaign funds or specific donors? Any lawyer at this level is BIG BUCKS - so follow the money.

Tempe talks a good story about helping the homeless but when it came to a homeless hockey team, they said no. Telling the residents this would result it hockey players roaming around Tempe pushing grocery carts and the end of civilization as they knew it didn't change the vote. If you see these homeless hockey players, call the Tempe HOPE team.

Who was who in the Tempe thing? Which firms were on the pro side and the con side? Who were the clients?

I think we can have a contest or two about when the Coyotes will leave the valley and where they will go? There are some cities building hockey arenas. I would guess they would head to one of them. No money to be made in a 5000 seat arena.
